Suspense Novel By the Light of the Moon

By the Light of the Moon, by Dean Koontz: 

Traveling artist Dylan O’Conner returns with fast-food burgers to his Arizona motel room and his twenty-year-old autistic brother, Shep, to be hit from behind by mad scientist Lincoln Proctor and injected with a psychotropic drug that “does something different to everyone,” Proctor tells Dylan while Shep remains focused on his jigsaw puzzle in suspense novel BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON. Stand-up comic motel guest Jilly Jackson and Shep also are injected that night, and all three develop supernatural talents, bonding them as they escape pursuing killers and rescue intended victims from evil, vowing to make that their life’s mission.
