Satirical Humor Star Island

Star Island, by Carl Hiaasen:

When young actress Ann DeLusia signs on to double as celebrity addict Cherry Pye in satirical humor novel STAR ISLAND, Ann embarks on a zany adventure across South Florida from South Beach to the Everglades to the Keys. Mistaken identity leads to her abduction by bungling paparazzo Bang Abbott and a daring rescue by Skink, a one-eyed former Florida governor turned radical naturalist. Chemo, Cherry’s six-foot-nine, weed-whacker-wielding bodyguard, likes Ann and refuses to “hush” her permanently to save Cherry’s career, leaving Ann free to rescue the twenty-two-year-old entertainer from a life rapidly spiraling toward a much anticipated early death.
