Literary Mystery Mystic River

Mystic River, by Dennis Lehane

 SPOILER ALERT!

As three eleven-year-olds—Sean, Jimmy, and Dave—play in the street of their Boston neighborhood, child molesters abduct Dave. Four days later he escapes, never to be the same again in literary novel MYSTIC RIVER. Twenty years later, Jimmy’s nineteen-year-old daughter is brutally murdered, Sean is a homicide detective assigned the case, and Dave is a suspect. Dave’s wife sees evidence that Dave has killed someone that same night and tells Jimmy, who executes Dave and dumps his body in the river before Sean solves the case and arrests the real culprits. Now it’s Jimmy’s turn to be a suspect.
