Mainstream Novel A Patchwork Planet

Mainstream Novel A Patchwork Planet, by Anne Tyler:

It’s my 30th birthday, and following family tradition in mainstream novel A PATCHWORK PLANET, I’m looking for my angel. Every Gaitlin must have one, you see, even me, son Barnaby, who prefers attending to the whims and needs of Baltimore’s elderly as an employee of Rent-a-Back over working at the family’s Foundation. So it’s no surprise that I focus on the nice banker lady with the sensible bun. But angels come in all shapes and sizes, I discover, and mine has been right beside me all along, believing I’m a man to be trusted even when accused otherwise.
