Dylan O’Conner returns with fast-food burgers to his Arizona motel room and his autistic brother, Shep, to be hit from behind by a mad scientist in suspense novel BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON. The scientist injects Dylan with a drug that “does something different to everyone” while Shep remains focused on his jigsaw puzzle. Fellow motel guest Jilly Jackson and Shep also are injected that night, and all three develop supernatural talents, bonding them as they escape pursuing killers and rescue intended victims from evil, vowing to make that their life’s mission.
