Twenty-nine-year-old Romy Hall, single mother and former stripper, is serving two life sentences in Stanville, California, for the murder of a stalker in literary novel THE MARS ROOM. When her mother dies in a car crash, there is no one to take care of Romy’s seven-year-old son. For several years, Romy tries to find him from within prison walls with no success. Then she escapes into the woods only to realize that her son has his own path and she has hers, and it is good they are not the same. She has given him life, and life is everything.

    1. Thanks, Kurt. I wasn’t crazy about it, but I’m not sorry I read it. Someone had inserted in the book an article about the author from The New Yorker, however, and I found that to be very interesting. Thanks for recommending!
