My Dream of You, by Nuala O’Faolain
Inspired by an 1856 Irish divorce case, London-based travel writer Kathleen de Burca returns to Ireland after a twenty-year absence to write a book about the alleged affair of the lady of Mount Talbot and its groom in literary novel MY DREAM OF YOU. While searching for the truth behind the reputed nineteenth-century adultery, she encounters the devastating history of her homeland. Left in a quandary by the disputed facts of the historical case and her own Irish love affair, Kathleen creates a poignant ending for the story and a new beginning for herself.
