My Dream of You, by Nuala O’Faolain
Inspired by an 1856 Irish divorce case, London-based travel writer Kathleen de Burca returns to Ireland after a twenty-year absence to write a book about the case involving the alleged affair of the lady of Mount Talbot and its groom in literary novel MY DREAM OF YOU. While searching for the truth behind the reputed nineteenth-century adultery, she encounters the devastating history of her homeland. Left in a quandary by the disputed facts of the historical case and her own Irish love affair, Kathleen creates a poignant ending for the century-old story and a new beginning for herself.
